Come in a purchase 1 ½ yards of a true woven fabric and I will show you how to make an AMAZING chenille scarf.  It is all in the fabric folding.  Remember National Weather says it will be a VERY LONG cold winter!!!

ROTARY CUTTING

 

Not sure how to use a rotary cutter?  Not satisfied with your results??  Afraid of cutting yourself???  Bring yourself and your supplies to this class and you’ll learn how to accurately and safely use and care for the greatest invention since the sewing machine!!  This lecture and hands on class is the first step in creating a quilt.  If you are a ‘first time quilter’, this is a required class.

CROCHET RUGS
 

 

Calling all hookers (crochet that is)!!  Come spend an evening and make a rug.  This quick to hook project uses ‘honey bun’ or 1 ½” strip, your choice.  It is a great way to use up scraps that are lying around in your sewing room.  There is no sewing involved in this project!!  Prior to class you will need to either have bought a ‘honey bun’ or have your strips cut.  You do need to know basic crochet chain.

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY with the Mercantile.  Learn to make a Monopoly Quilt, kit will contain backing, binding and a PRECUT top.  It will be all ready for you to sew!!  Better yet, we will be playing a Monopoly card game and the winner will receive a Gift Card worth the PRECUT TOP only of the quilt!!! 

 

We will be serving Pulled Pork Sandwiches.  We also ask that you please bring a dish to pass (side dish or dessert).  Beverages will be provided!

CARRY ME BAG
 
‘Honey bun’ friendly and oh sooo cute!!  The perfect tote for all of those “take me along” craft project.  Carry your knitting, crochet, appliqué or embroidery projects in style.  If you do not want to use a honey bun your can make your own strips.

MACHINE APPLIQUE

 

This beginner level class will guide you through the steps to make your machine appliqué stress free and easy!  Using a pattern designed by Bunny Hill Designs, this 48” quilt will make a perfect couch or child’s quilt…and if you love dogs…it will be perfect for you!!  The appliqué pieces are large with gentle curves and easy points to stitch.  You will also learn about sashing, corner stones and ‘prairie points’ for an extra accent to the outer border.

 

This is a good project for using scraps, brights, pastels or just about any fabric that you love!  It is also ‘layer cake’ friendly!!

21st CENTURY BULL’S EYE QUILT

 

Raw-edge piecing takes the stress out of piecing takes the stress out of piecing curved seams…and that is the idea behind this 58” x 74” scrappy gem!  Designed by Country Threads, this will be the most relaxing quilt you will ever make.  Cutting circles freehand, layering them to top stitch, cutting the blocks in quarters…then stitching them back together again…you will be amazed at how all of the mismatched fabrics and circles come together to create this super cuddly quilt (better than a ‘snuggie’)!  So, gather up your fabrics and join me for the easiest quilt ever!!

Another good use of the 4-in-1 prints designed by Sandy Klop from American Jane.  NO Y-seams!!  This 50” x 65” throw is bright and cheery!!  Kits will be available featuring this fabric from the “Happy Campers” line.  You can use templates or a handy dandy ruler. 

 

Advanced Level

GO FLY A KITE!!!
 
Let’s go and fly a kite!!!  Come and learn the Buggy Barn technique for stacking, cutting and shuffling your fabrics.  You need to be able to think beyond the box!!  Fat quarter friendly!!  Quilt measure 82” x 87” or smaller, your choice!!

AMERICAN VINTAGE

 

This is a quick and easy wall hanging that may remind you of those 1950’s grade school days…even if you were not in school back then.  Made in a ‘medallion’ style, it features a large school days scene for the centre, and then it is surrounded by 4 borders, with a bit of appliqué on the outer border.  A kit is available, but this 42” project would be great using any novelty or traditional fabric of your choice.

STRIP STACKS

 

Never made a quilt before?  Afraid it looks too hard?  This is a great novice level class!  This lap size quilt top is made from a ‘jelly roll’, precut 2 ½” strips!!  Add a bit of background fabric, and you won’t believe how fast these strips turn into a quilt…like magic!!  There are very few seams to match, making construction a breeze.  Rotary cutting class is required!

THE CAR ORGANIZER
 
Stay organized in your car!!  Every vehicle should have this organizer in it.  It has two compartments that are great for a tissue box, CD case, umbrella, etc.  Make one for your children’s toys; it is nice to have them all in one place instead of all over!!  It also features a pen and cell phone pocket, large front pockets than can be used for maps, coupons, etc.  You simply use a seatbelt strap to hold the organizer in place on the seat.  This is a MUST have for every car!!

This is a remarkably versatile bag!!  Features - interior and exterior pockets, some with zippers, adjustable straps to convert from backpack to shoulder bag!!  Can also be used as a diaper bag – with bottle pockets.

Jo's Little Women's Club
 
Step back in time to an old fashioned gathering - In this six month Club, we will be making small traditional quilts designed by Jo Morton.  This is a great way to meet new stitchery friends and learn some new techniques.  A free pattern for each project is included with the dues paid.
