When Cindy Jones asked me to design the Lake St. Mercantile quilt for the Quilt Sampler Magazine I was absolutely thrilled to get this challenge! Paisley Parade is made with Prairie Paisley by Minick and Simpson, www.minickandsimpson.com, for Moda. We hope you like it as much as we do.
Prairie Paisley is a collection of 40 prints and 28 wovens in a rich red, white and blue pallete. It evokes the turn of the century with paisleys, stripes and calicos and reminds us of our homey Midwestern roots. This quilt is a simple geometric medalllion quilt that looks more complicated than it really is. The many tones of red, white and blue give it a layered, rich look.
